Message from
Mayor Clare Higgins

Dear Friends,

I am pleased to sponsor Safe Passage's fourth annual Hot Chocolate 5K Run and 2 mile walk. Many thanks to the 1700 runners and walkers who participated last year. It was heartwarming to see so many individuals and families, runners and walkers of all ages and from all walks of life come out to spend a Saturday morning in support of Safe Passage and its services for families affected by domestic violence. It's the kind of event that really represents what an amazingly caring and giving community Northampton is.

I encourage everyone to join us this year on December 1st to enjoy downtown Northampton in the company of very good people, to celebrate our community, and support the families that rely on the critical services that Safe Passage provides. The City is grateful to the staff and volunteers who enable Safe Passage to continue to offer these services to our neighbors who have experienced the trauma of domestic violence.

I wish Safe Passage great success with this innovative fundraiser and look forward to many more Hot Chocolate Runs to come!

Many thanks,
Mayor Higgins
