Message from Safe Passage
Executive Director
La Wanza Lett-Brewington
Thank you for your interest
in the 2008 Mayor Higgins’ Hot Chocolate Run to benefit Safe Passage!
This annual community event is in its fifth year… and it just
keeps getting bigger and better!
Last year over 2200 participants came out on a beautiful December
morning for a fun event and a great cause. These runners and walkers
included a wide range of people—community leaders, business people,
lawyers, doctors, social workers and counselors, survivors of domestic
violence, parents and children, students—many of whom say they’ll
be joining us again this year.
Not only is the Hot Chocolate Run a wonderful and diverse community
event, it’s absolutely critical to Safe Passage as part of our
annual fundraising efforts. The money raised from the Hot Chocolate
Run directly supports Safe Passage’s programs—our hotline;
our shelter program; and our counseling, advocacy, and legal programs
for adults and children.
Please come out on December 6—for good health, good cheer, and
a good cause! The Fifth Annual Mayor Higgins’ Hot Chocolate Run
for Safe Passage is guaranteed to be the most festive run or walk you
participate in this year.
Together we can make a difference!
See you there,
La Wanza Lett-Brewington
